Results from LA Royal Vista Tournament - Saturday February 20, 2010

We had the threat of wet weather but it turned out to be a beautiful day. Unfortunately, it took 5 1/2 hour to play.

Pat Hughes tamed the course with a gross score of 71 and net 66. This is the second year in a row that he had the same gross and net score. No one else may like the course but Pat has it in the schedule every year. Rich Hoag, Vic Ochoa, Mel Cornwell, and Gale King were the only other net par or better shooters. Chad 'Foot Long' Visessung had almost holed out his tee shot on #6, missing by a foot. And then again, missing the hole by a foot with the putt. Finally it fell six inches for par. Jack Chunhacha was offered a job as a groundskeeper, as he did so well raking all the sand on #14. Gary Weitzman bettered his score on #1 from last year. He had a 16 last year and birdied it this year. Talk about improvement.

One more match play qualifying round in Redhawk next month. Get your $10 entry fee in to Pat if you want in.

Low Gross score in flights were Pat Hughes 71, and Rich Tanigawa 93.

Low Net score in flights were Pat Hughes 66 and Mel Cornwell 68
