It was a rather warm outing in Hemet, where there was seldom a breeze and the greens provided more 3 putts than we cared for. But all in all, it was a good event with a few "manly" folks playing from the black tees. We even got a free lunch.
The low gross winner was Pat Hughes 76 playing from the black tees. Also playing the black , "manly" tees, were Rob, Leonard, Art, and Jack.
Only 2 net skins worth $16.00 each AND the guys playing the black tees got em both.
In the final of match play, Rich Hoag d. Paul Sullivan 2 & 1 for the SOS Match Championship. Two years in a row for Rich. Congratulations.
We now have 8 qualifiers for the first Survivor Cup match next month at Los Sorranos. Rob Kay made a last minute charge to come from below the cut line to get in. Well done.

September 26, 2010Upcoming SOS event at Los Serranos Country Club
The September event on SUNDAY 9/26/10 is a low net tournament and will be held at the Los Serranos Country Club South Course in Chino Hills. First tee time is 8:00 AM. There is a closest to the pin contest on the par 3's. We will have winners for Net to three places in each flight.
Deadline is September 3rd. We must have your money in by then. Course is giving us this deadline, so make your plans now and get an email and the money to Pat.
Make your reservation by calling Pat Hughes at (310) 512-2404 or email him. Make your check for $77 payable to Pat Hughes and mail it to Pat Hughes, 9244 Ramona St. #4, Bellflower, CA 90706. Add $5.00 if you want in the optional Gross/Net Skins pot or $2.50 for the optional Net Skins pot.
This is the first playoff round of the Survivor Cup.

An Invitation to Join
SOS is an SCGA affiliate golfing club that is open to all golfers looking for a club that is not attached to a golf course facility. We offer monthly tournaments, match play, out of state golfing trips, electronic tournament scoring system, as well as an up to date web site that you can go to anytime with tee times, tournament results, and club info.
The SCGA has an electronic handicapping system which allows posting of scores on-line and monthly email notification for news and handicap. SOS has a certified handicap chairman that can assist the golfer in understanding the handicap system.
